The tribe field guide

A little wisdom.

Simple pictures, clear orders

You begin with 100 fruit, 100 bamboo, four workers, and a destructible home tree. Tap a panda to open a six-action grid, with a picture above every word. Building choices show miniatures of the structures. Tap the map to dismiss the panda name and commands.

Pan, select, and zoom

Drag the map with one finger to pan immediately. To select a group, hold still for about half a second until the gold ring and a small vibration appear, then draw a closed circle around your pandas. Pinch or use + and − to zoom out farther. Distant views use simple icons and unit clusters. Fit selection frames your group; Home returns to the base.

Tap a destination

Select a scout, then tap anywhere on the map to move it; it will hover when it arrives. Select a warrior, then tap the map to attack-move: the panda engages enemies along its route, resumes moving, and guards the destination. Hold position guards the current location. Retreat home returns warriors toward safety and healing. Defend home remains available under More.

Harvest and grow

Select Harvest and choose the fruit jungle or bamboo forest. Each worker walks there, gathers for six seconds, then carries up to 25 resources to the closest completed home tree or supply hut. Your counter rises only after delivery. Groves contain finite stock and gradually disappear. Workers repeat gathering while resources remain, then seek another known grove of the same type. Explore north to find more jungle and bamboo.

Build your village

Select a worker → Build → choose a structure → tap open ground near home. Workers travel to the site, carry little tools, and animate their work. They stay assigned until construction is complete. A selected group builds one structure together, paying once and finishing faster. Select the home tree to create new panda workers.

Work times start after arrival. Each training building queues up to three named pandas and trains one at a time. View the queue for the current timer and waiting pandas; Train another fills the next available slot. The nursery also queues up to three new workers. An idle worker can resume a site whose builder was defeated. Supply huts accept nearby deposits during northern expeditions.

A gentler beginning

Home raids wait for your first completed arrow tower, at least five minutes after starting, and at least 90 seconds after tower completion. The first wave contains one weaker rival. Later raids show their direction and a countdown 30 seconds before setting out. Home is protected while you prepare; distant guards still defend their camps.

Help your tribe thrive

The star button opens optional milestones. Claim each completed milestone once for a small resource bonus. The idle-worker button finds a panda needing a job. Safe pandas near home heal 10 health for 1 fruit every two seconds. You can switch home healing off; it pauses during nearby threats and recent damage.

Protect your pandas

Dojo warriors carry poison dart guns. Jade Sanctuary training gives warriors more health, stronger darts, and greater range. Friendly and enemy warriors fire automatically when opponents are close enough, so move your pandas into position. Injured pandas show green, then orange, then red health bars; bars disappear at full health. Enemy health is visible while enemies are within observation range. Combat has no blood.

Scout and raid

Leafwing is an unarmed bamboo helicopter. Use Explore north to keep discovering new mainland, resources, and rival tribes, or hover to observe troop movements. Scouts fly above ground attacks. Warriors raid a discovered camp, destroy it, and carry up to 60 of each resource home per trip. The mainland keeps expanding as you travel north, so your expedition continues after known camps are emptied. Losing the home tree ends your game.

Find more than resources

Each new northern region awards 10 fruit and 10 bamboo. Discover abandoned supply caches, stranded pandas, and unusual groves yielding 35-resource baskets. Scouts reveal discoveries; ground pandas collect supplies and rescue pandas once nearby rivals are cleared. Rescues respect the 24-panda tribe limit. Landscapes and rival camps vary as you travel farther north.

Save, sound, and restart

Progress saves locally every five seconds and after commands. The game pauses in the background. If a purchase needs more supplies, a friendly panda voice says “Need more fruit” or “Need more bamboo.” Buttons stay tappable so you can hear the warning. Pause includes sound controls that also mute the voice, and a restart option with confirmation. Removing the app can remove its saved tribe.

Report an issue

During private testing, open TestFlight, choose Bamboo & Brave, and select Send Beta Feedback. Include your device, iOS version, what the panda was doing, and the steps that caused the problem.
