Poolside Control support
Connect to your pool
Connect your iPhone or iPad to the same local network as your ScreenLogic adapter. In Poolside Control Settings, enter the adapter’s local IP address and tap Connect. Allow Local Network access when iOS asks. If access was denied, enable it for Poolside Control in iOS Settings. A router DHCP reservation can keep the adapter address stable.
Compatibility
Poolside Control is designed for Pentair EasyTouch and IntelliTouch systems with a ScreenLogic protocol adapter. It does not connect directly to IntelliCenter, standalone Wi-Fi pumps, or IntelliCenter cloud accounts. iOS/iPadOS 17 or later is required. Local access connects by adapter IP address and does not include automatic discovery.
Temperatures and equipment
Tap the target temperature to adjust and save it. Set heating to Enabled where the controller supports a separate heating mode. If the controller has Manual Heat enabled, Spa Mode manages spa heating and the app displays “Managed by Spa Mode.” Read the controller settings under Settings → Equipment → Controller Configuration. Pool pump controls the Pool circulation circuit. The physical pump may keep running for spa circulation, freeze protection, or a controller delay. Spa mode and Spa jets are separate controls; check the jets circuit assignment in Settings.
Choose and name extra controls
Open Settings → Extra controls → Choose & name circuits. Turn on only the circuits connected to equipment you have, and optionally enter friendly display names. Extra controls are hidden by default and appear on the Pool screen and paired watch when enabled. Tap Save Changes to save your circuit names and visibility. Names are local Poolside Control labels; they do not rename controller circuits. Hiding a control does not turn the equipment off. Unavailable circuits are omitted after refresh.
Remote access
Open Settings → Local & remote access. Enter your ScreenLogic device ID (AA-BB-CC) and remote password. Choose Automatic to try local access first, or Remote only to use Pentair’s remote service. Save & connect. The adapter must be online and ScreenLogic remote access must be configured.
Independent Apple Watch
Install the companion Apple Watch app. In the iPhone connection settings, enable Connect without iPhone and save. Keep the paired devices nearby for the initial settings transfer, then open Poolside on the watch and refresh. “Remote connection” confirms the independent route. The watch uses Wi-Fi or cellular internet through the InnCommand HTTPS bridge; the iPhone app can be closed and the iPhone can be locked or unavailable after setup. Unlock devices once after a restart so Keychain settings are available.
The watch supports pool circulation, lights, jets, pool and spa temperature targets, heating on/off, status, and opted-in extra controls. It never displays or edits schedules or the controller clock. Without independent access enabled, it uses the paired iPhone and can request a background wake. If a command fails, refresh before trying again: equipment changes are never automatically repeated or queued.
Removing the remote password in iPhone Settings disables independent access when the watch receives the updated setup. Keep the devices connected until settings sync completes. If a watch is lost, change the remote password in ScreenLogic.
Pump and light schedules
Open Schedules, tap an existing routine, or tap plus to create one. Choose equipment, start and end times, and repeat days. An end time earlier than the start means the schedule ends the following day. Schedules are stored on your pool controller and run independently of the phone. Special schedules with sunrise/sunset or other controller flags are read-only in this version.
Spa Alerts
Enable Settings → Spa Alerts to opt in to sharing pump/light schedules, equipment status and your ScreenLogic device ID with our server. Choose a reminder delay of 15, 30, 45, 60 or 90 minutes, 2 hours or 3 hours. Each installation opts in separately, and its paired watch follows its choice.
Opted-in devices for the same pool synchronize reminders using the ScreenLogic device ID. Reported off commands or statuses cancel reminders, and known schedule stops suppress them. These are reminders, not verified continuous-runtime alerts. External changes can only be detected when an opted-in app reads fresh controller status. No automated server queries or stored pool passwords are used for alerts. Equipment is never turned off automatically. Disable alerts before uninstalling.
Controller time
Select the pool’s actual time zone in Settings before setting the controller’s date and time. The selected zone interprets the wall clock; changing the zone alone does not change the controller. The app quietly synchronizes the controller once per launch after connecting, using the selected pool time zone and preserving the controller’s daylight-saving setting. Clock updates use minute precision. Check the daylight-saving option for your location. Changing controller time changes when schedules run.
If a change is not confirmed
Refresh and inspect the current equipment state before trying again. A connection can fail after the controller receives a command. Poolside Control does not retry equipment writes automatically or queue offline commands. If adding a schedule reports an allocated slot, inspect that schedule before adding another.
Try Demo Mode
In Settings → Local & remote access, enter device ID 00-00-00 and password test, then tap Save & connect. Demo Mode simulates a pool and spa without controlling physical equipment. You can try temperatures, circuits, schedules, and controller time. Optional Spa Alerts can send real push reminders for simulated activity, isolated to your installation. Demo changes last for the session.
