Sushi Savvy

Effective September 10, 2026

Privacy policy

Sushi Savvy is operated by David Jones. This policy covers the Sushi Savvy iPhone and iPad app and its pages on apps.inncommand.com.

Data on your device

The sushi catalog, photos and guide content are bundled with the app. Sushi catalog searches are processed on your device. Saved favorites and tasting notes, including any restaurant names, ratings and text you enter, are stored locally. Sushi Savvy does not upload this information to us and does not require an account.

No advertising or tracking SDKs

Sushi Savvy includes no advertising, third-party analytics or tracking SDKs. It does not request contacts, microphone, camera or photo-library access. We do not sell your personal information.

Nearby restaurants and location

The optional Nearby tab uses Apple Maps to find restaurants and display place information. If you choose to use your location, iOS asks for location access while using the app. Your location is used for the map search and is not stored by Sushi Savvy or sent to our servers. You can search a city without granting location access and change permission in Settings. Map searches, map viewing and place details require an internet connection and are processed by Apple and its providers under Apple Maps privacy practices. To filter out restaurants that do not clearly serve sushi, Nearby may read a restaurant’s public website directly from your device. Those websites receive ordinary network request information such as your IP address; Sushi Savvy does not send them your location, notes or account information. Restaurant website and navigation links are handled by their respective providers.

AI-generated photos

The photos were created during app development and are included in the download. Browsing the sushi catalog does not send your searches, notes or other personal information to OpenAI.

Apple services and TestFlight

Apple handles app distribution and may process diagnostics under its own policies and your device settings. For TestFlight betas, Apple collects usage and crash information and shares it with us, along with feedback you submit. Depending on how you were invited, this can include your name and email address. We use beta information to test, troubleshoot and improve Sushi Savvy. See Apple’s TestFlight privacy information.

Website, support and external links

Our hosting infrastructure may record ordinary web request information, such as IP address, browser information, requested page and time, for operation and security. These Sushi Savvy pages use local images and system fonts, without analytics scripts or advertising cookies. External source links lead to websites with their own privacy practices.

If you contact support, we receive the email address, message and other details you choose to provide. The shared support form uses a session cookie and security token to protect submissions. Hosting and email providers process this information to deliver the site and our response. Avoid sending sensitive information that is unnecessary for your request.

Retention and deletion

You can remove favorites and delete individual tasting notes in the app. Deleting the app removes its local app data; offloading it may preserve that data. Device backups may retain app data under your Apple backup settings. We cannot retrieve or delete local notes remotely.

We retain support correspondence and any beta information we keep only as needed to address requests, improve the app, maintain security or meet legal obligations. Website logs follow hosting retention and rotation. You may request access to or deletion of information we hold about you through support; some records may need to be retained for legal or security reasons. Apple controls its own data retention.
