Privacy policy

SewTastic is operated by David Jones. This policy covers the SewTastic iPhone and iPad app and its pages on apps.inncommand.com.

Browse without an account

You can browse the directory and public community without registering. Directory searches and saved resources are kept on your device. We do not upload your saved places or conversation bookmarks. Conversation follows and notification preferences are stored with your account. Our hosting service receives ordinary request information, such as IP addresses and request times, when you access community content or our website.

Account information

If you register, we store your email address, display name, selected icon or uploaded profile photo, email verification status, acceptance of terms, and a securely hashed password. Your email address is private. Your display name, icon or photo appear publicly with your posts and replies. A session credential is stored in the iOS Keychain so you can remain signed in.

Community content

Posts, replies, photos, links and any meetup information you choose to publish are public. Do not post private contact information, home addresses, or images you do not have permission to share. Others may copy public content before you remove it. We store reports and blocking preferences to help moderate the community. Verified moderators can edit or delete posts and replies and resolve reports. Administrators can appoint or remove moderators. We record moderation actions, actor identifiers, timestamps and reasons for accountability. Moderators may review reported content and take action.

Photos

The system photo picker shares only the images you choose with the app. Selected images are resized and re-encoded before upload, and the server re-encodes them again. We do not retain the original photo metadata. Faces, text and other information visible in a photo remain visible. Profile and post photos are stored on the service and displayed publicly when attached to public content.

Maps and location

Near me uses optional location access while you use the app. You may instead search a city without granting permission. Location and map searches are processed by Apple Maps and its providers under Apple Maps privacy practices. SewTastic does not send your precise device location to our server or store it in your account. A venue and map pin you choose for a meetup, along with its date and time zone, are stored with the post and are public. Your RSVP is stored with your account; other members see only an attendance count.

Email and push notifications

We use your email to send account verification and password-recovery messages through Amazon Web Services. These are account-service messages, not marketing subscriptions. If you enable push notifications, Apple provides a device token that we store with your account to deliver the community categories and replies you choose. You can change subscriptions in You and device permission in iOS Settings.

Providers and international processing

Amazon Web Services hosts the community service in the United States and delivers account emails. Apple processes maps and push delivery. Data may be processed outside your country. When you open a directory or user-posted link, the destination website receives ordinary web request information and applies its own privacy policy. We do not control independent shops, class providers or linked websites.

No advertising tracking

The app includes no advertising or third-party analytics SDKs. We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising. We do not request your contacts, microphone or background location.

Retention and deletion

We retain active account information and posted content until you delete it or your account, or until moderation requires removal. Verification and recovery codes expire after 20 minutes. Unattached uploads are cleaned up after approximately 24 hours. Expired sessions and delivery queues are routinely removed.

Account deletion removes your account, sessions, posts, replies, photos, subscriptions and associated records from the active database. Moderation audit records may remain for accountability; a deleted moderator’s account reference is removed. Deleted information may remain in routine operational logs or backups according to the host’s retention schedule; contact support for the current schedule or a specific deletion request. We may retain limited records where required by law or necessary to investigate abuse. Locally saved directory resources remain on your device until removed or the app is deleted.

Your choices

You can edit your profile, edit or delete your posts, edit or delete your replies, manage notification subscriptions and conversation follows, block members and delete your account inside the app. To request access, correction, deletion or other privacy assistance, use SewTastic support. We may need to verify control of the account before acting on a request.

Age requirement

Accounts are intended for people aged 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect account information from younger children. Contact support if you believe a child has provided personal information.

Security and changes

We use encrypted network connections, password hashing and access controls. No service can guarantee complete security. We will update the effective date when this policy changes and provide appropriate notice for material changes.
