Privacy policy
TraderCue is a market event calendar for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, developed by David Jones. This policy covers the TraderCue app, accounts, calendar service and notifications.
Data on your device
Recurring event selections and calendar, timezone and reminder preferences are stored on your device. No account is required to use TraderCue or start its 30-day free trial. Creating an optional account saves and syncs your preferences between devices. Automatic calendar feed updates are active. The app retrieves public schedules over HTTPS when opened and hourly while active, and offers manual refresh with the last sync date and time. Manual refresh is limited to once per minute. The iPhone and watch retrieve public calendar updates over HTTPS; ordinary hosting logs may contain IP addresses, requested paths, user-agent information and timestamps. Event selections and timezone preferences also sync between your paired iPhone and Apple Watch through Apple Watch Connectivity. Deleting the app removes local preferences, but secure sign-in credentials in Apple Keychain and your cloud account can remain. Sign out or delete your account in the app before removing it when appropriate.
Accounts and email recovery
Amazon Cognito stores your email address and optional profile name and manages password authentication, verification, and session security. Passwords go directly to Cognito over HTTPS; our calendar server does not receive them. Amazon SES sends verification and password recovery codes. We do not use these emails for marketing.
Our server stores your account identifier, selected event types, followed companies, reminder lead time, timezone preference, and preference-change records needed to safely synchronize devices. Linked push installation identifiers associate reminders with your account. Sign-in tokens are stored in Apple Keychain on each device. Preferences sync automatically when your account is restored at launch and while the app is active and connected; offline changes wait for a connection. A paired Apple Watch receives selections and preferences through Apple Watch Connectivity. Your in-app reminder preference syncs with your account. Apple’s system notification permissions and Focus settings remain specific to each device and are not changed by account syncing.
Tap your account circle at the upper right of Overview to edit your name and email, sign out, or permanently delete your account. Email changes require verification before replacing the active address. You can also open your account from Alerts. Signing out stops account syncing and requires a connection. The device retains its local selections, reminder settings, and Apple membership, and can continue reminders without an account. Deletion requires your password and removes your identity, saved preferences, synchronization records, and linked push registrations from our active systems. If an identity-service interruption prevents completion, a deletion marker may remain without preference data until deletion is completed. Operational backups can retain prior records until their normal rotation; retained backups are not used for active reminders.
Push notifications and recurring choices
Remote push notifications are active and are optional. If you enable reminders, TraderCue registers with our server using an Apple push token, a random installation identifier, your opted-in event types and reminder lead time. The app uses a private installation credential stored in Keychain; the server retains only its hash. We use this information to send opted-in event notifications through Apple Push Notification service. No brokerage accounts or trading records are sent.
You can opt out of a type in Event Types, or turn off all reminders in Alerts. Once the server acknowledges the update, it stops sending the affected queued reminders. If synchronization fails, the app displays a warning; iOS notification controls take effect immediately on your device. Apple may already hold a previously submitted notification. The app uses on-device reminders before remote enrollment succeeds.
Disabled or invalid push registrations are removed after 14 days. Delivery queue records are removed after 30 days. Active opt-ins remain until you turn them off or Apple reports the token is invalid. Uninstalling the app does not necessarily notify the server immediately.
Previously provided mobile numbers
SMS alerts are not offered in the current TraderCue app. If you previously provided a mobile number or SMS consent, existing records may include the number, verification status, consent date and delivery history. We do not sell, rent, or share mobile numbers or SMS consent information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Previously used messaging providers, including Twilio and telecommunications carriers, may retain records under their own policies. Our SMS delivery records are retained for 30 days. Account deletion removes your phone and SMS settings from our active database. Contact TraderCue Support for help with previously supplied information or messages.
Membership and purchases
No TraderCue account is required. We store a random installation identifier, a hash of its private credential, and a trial deadline when the installation first connects, even if notifications are disabled. The free trial lasts 30 days. Settings remain on the device unless you choose an account for syncing. Monthly membership costs $4.99 in the United States and is billed by Apple if you choose to subscribe. Apple handles payment information; we do not receive your card details. We verify signed Apple transactions and store transaction identifiers, entitlement dates and revocations to verify membership on your installations, process renewals and refunds, and allow restores through your Apple Account without a TraderCue login. Transaction ownership records may be retained after account deletion for fraud prevention and accounting. Deleting a TraderCue account does not cancel an Apple subscription; manage cancellation in App Store subscriptions.
No advertising or tracking
The app includes no third-party advertising or analytics SDKs and does not request contacts, location, camera or microphone access. It does not connect to a brokerage or collect your trades.
Links, TestFlight and this website
Opening an official event source takes you to an external website governed by its own policy. Apple processes TestFlight diagnostics and any beta feedback you choose to send under Apple’s terms and privacy policy. Our website’s hosting server may log IP addresses, browser information, requested pages and timestamps for operation and security.
Questions and changes
