On first launch, choose Start 30-day free trial and confirm the free purchase with Apple. Every calculator is available for 30 days from activation. Afterward, choose Unlock forever to keep calculating for a one-time US $9.99 purchase. The app displays your local App Store price before purchase. There is no subscription and no automatic charge.
Tap the trial or unlock badge at the top of the calculator to see access details. Use Restore purchases with the same Apple Account on another iPhone, iPad or Mac. Restoring or reinstalling does not restart a used trial. You can still view saved results after the trial ends. Activation, purchase and restoration need internet; calculations work offline while access is active.
Start with a flight key
- Tap a dedicated key such as XWIND, WCA, ETE, FUEL or D ALT. Open Functions for the full library.
- Tap an input row, then enter its value using the keypad. Check the unit beside the input. ± changes its sign; CLR clears that input.
- Tap NEXT to move through inputs and GO to calculate and save the result.
- Use Load example to see an illustrative case. Examples are marked and do not save until you press GO.
- Tap the formula button to read the math, assumptions and source reference. Reference links require internet; calculation does not.
Using the dedicated Mac app
Use the searchable sidebar to choose a calculation. Type numbers and arithmetic operators, press Return to calculate, Escape to clear, and the Down arrow to advance flight inputs. The Flight menu opens history, weight and balance, the unit converter and formula references. Press Command-comma to open Settings. Access and purchases use the same Apple Account; calculation history and preferences stay local to each device.
Choose your units in Settings
Tap the gear button at the top of the calculator. Under Speed units, choose Knots (kt) or Miles per hour (mph). Under Fuel units, choose US gallons or Liters. Your preferences stay on this device.
Speed preferences apply to wind, EAS/TAS and groundspeed. Fuel preferences apply to quantities, flow per hour and density (lb/US gal or lb/L). Distances remain in nautical miles; weights and loading arms remain in pounds and inches. The separate unit converter lets you choose any supported unit pair.
Changing a setting converts your current input values. Saved results retain the units originally used. Reopening a saved calculation converts its inputs to your current preferences, so changing units does not change the physical quantities.

Frequently asked questions
What devices does the app support?
iPhone and iPad with iOS or iPadOS 17 or later, plus Apple silicon and Intel Macs with macOS 14 or later. A wider iPad window and the dedicated Mac app show the function library beside the calculator. Narrow iPad windows use the compact layout.
Why is a result blank after I edit an input?
Changing an input clears the previous answer so it cannot be mistaken for a current result. Tap GO to calculate again. Impossible conditions or incomplete fields show an explanation.
Which direction and speed should I enter for wind?
Wind direction is where the wind comes from. Crosswind calculations need runway and wind directions in the same reference. METAR winds are true; runway numbers are usually magnetic and rounded. Wind correction uses true course, true wind direction and true airspeed.
Does the app choose my legal fuel reserve?
No. You enter a reserve appropriate to your flight and applicable requirements. Account for climb, alternates, contingencies and actual fuel flow. Only usable fuel belongs in endurance calculations.
Does weight and balance approve my aircraft loading?
No. Enter actual empty-aircraft data and all load stations. The worksheet totals weight and moment and calculates CG. Compare results with the approved envelope, station limits and maximum weights; separately check takeoff and landing loading.
Why are some tools estimates?
Density/pressure altitude use training approximations. Cloud base is a rough convective estimate, not a weather forecast. Glide range is ideal still-air geometry. The assumptions appear with each function.
How do I delete saved information?
Use Clear in calculation history. Saved loading stations can be edited and replaced by saving a new worksheet. Deleting the app removes its local calculation data; App Store purchase records remain with Apple and a restored trial retains its original start date; Apple device backups may retain a copy according to your settings.
Why does 2 + 3 × 4 give 20?
The basic calculator uses immediate execution like a pocket calculator: it completes 2 + 3 before multiplying by 4. Aviation tools use their displayed formulas.
